Best brand of CBD drinks?

Asking mostly for taste. But if you have other things to say about a brand, feel free to add that as well.

I like Ablis Lemon Ginger, but mainly because it has 50mg of CBD.

Why CBD?

Or THC. Doesn't matter much to me.

Edit: really what I want is a drink that I can sip like an alcoholic drink, not as sweet as soda, low-ish calorie, that might give me a little bit of a buzz if I have a couple.

THC and CBD do two different things as you probably already know. Drinking THC would be hard to regulate since it takes so long to get in your system. It takes about a half hour or more before I feel the effects and by then it's too late to go back if I feel too much. I speak from experience.

No advice regarding brands, but just a general PSA . . .

CBD will not give you a buzz, it's not psychoactive.  THC is the psychoactive compound that gets you high.

The tolerance you have for consuming THC will significantly change what you find enjoyable to consume.  For most people who have never had any, somewhere between 5-10 mg THC in an edible (like a drink) will be enough to start getting you high.  If you are a daily weed user, you could easily have a tolerance in the 50 to 100+ mg range.  Mixing CBD with THC tends to mellow out the high, and reduce the chance of paranoia.

It's also important to note that the way the THC is processed will change how it impacts your body.  Many newer THC infused drinks (and some edibles) today use a water-soluble nanoemulsion.  This method of processing allows the drink to effect you usually within half an hour and makes the whole experience pass relatively quickly.  The traditional processing for tinctures, some drinks, and edibles though is much slower and longer lasting - usually peaking 3-4 hrs after consumption and then tapering down over 8-12 hrs.  You need to know which one you're consuming . . . because you don't want to have a drink, feel fine, have another drink, feel fine, have another drink, feel fine, and then an hour or two later realized that you're stoned out of your mind and hallucinating for a multi-hour paranoid trip.

Make sure you know what dosage you're getting.  Buy from a trusted/reputable source.  Make sure you're speaking with people who understand what they're selling.

(And I'm not in any way trying to dissuade you from giving this a shot . . . I find weed to be infinitely better than booze as far as general health and high.  But there's a body of general knowledge regarding use of alcohol that we all kinda absorb as kids that seems to be missing regarding pot.)

Thanks, Steve. Turns out my passing thought about these drinks wasn’t very well thought out. Re: weed, I’m no longer someone who wants to smoke it at all. My parents both died from smoking cigarettes, and as a result of that grief I have what amounts to a phobia of having any smoke in my lungs.

Yeah, I've never smoked weed.  Edibles are way better for the lungs.  But edibles are processed by the body differently than smoking (can be much more powerful because of the chemical change that happens when the THC passes through the kidneys) so it's good to be cautious if starting out.

Liver metabolism, actually... and that first pass metabolism converts delta-9-THC into 11-hydroxy-THC, which is more potent and can cross the blood-brain barrier. All the more reason to buffer out with higher CBD ratios and microdose otherwise, as CBD takes higher priority in the liver metabolism hierarchy than THC.  >.>

Otherwise, intake through skin, mucous membranes, lungs, and sublingually bypasses the whole liver metabolism thing and leaves delta-9 delta-9.

Live your life in such as way so you don't need to take a CBD drink to escape from it.

CBD is not psychoactive - it doesn't get you high.  There are a variety of reasons why someone might choose to take CBD.  The main that I use CBD is to reduce muscle/joint inflammation from sports.  CBD is less dangerous than ibuprofen for this purpose.  I also participate in combat sports and occasionally am slammed hard on the mat or will eat a blow to the head.  Early studies of CBD have shown it to be neuroprotective in case of concussion, so I will take some CBD after receiving a hard jolt for prophylactic purposes.

While it would be possible to live my life in such a way that I don't ever need to take CBD, it would likely involve giving up the sport I love.  I'm not sure that this would be optimal for my health or happiness.
