A Doomsday COVID Variant Worse Than Delta and Lambda May Be Coming, Scientists Say

While the headline is a bit doomsday (by including the word "doomsday"), overall it helps to explain what has happened, what's possible, and what's likely. It certainly increased my understanding.

We are being continually surprised by this bug, and that is a lesson in itself right there. It would be good if we learned it before a significantly more negative outcome were to occur.

I saw an argument that the odds of more virulent variant is actually lessening since that tends to happen early in the timeline, and the the test space is basically fully tested.

I will see if I can find the story.
