Well that's that. All as expected :D
Public vote by telephone blocks voting in your own country for your own country but there are 6 million Ukrainians in other European countries now who aren't blocked by that system. I don't care because it's another small victory against the Russian aggressors.
Hey, UK second! First time this century we've done well. Congratulations to the lovely Sam Ryder.
Just that as you are in Australia you can't vote for Australia but if you were in Europe you could. There are six million Ukrainian refugees in Europe who couldn't have voted for Ukraine if they had stayed there but as refugees now can. The influence of the expat vote in Eurovision is always a matter of conjecture, of course.
Not sure what you mean. I voted for Ukraine.
Not sure I follow still but it's ok. I think everyone voted for Ukraine as a show of support, as in everyone I know who voted, voted for them, amongst other countries. I don't vote for the UK unless it's a good'un. In fact, I've never voted for them before, ha ha.
The bookies had Ukraine as the favourite from the start. Having said that, I don't think they could have won without a decent number of points from the juries too so that was good that they got a few douze's.
I see Piers Morgan is saying it was rigged. It's not rigged - we voted for them! That's how it works! Whether we voted for them because the song was the best is irrelevant, there are no rules for the public vote apart from a limit of 20 pp. I can vote for the best hat if I like.
Anyway, I hope they can host next year somewhere somehow. I mean no-one really cares where it is held or who's paying for it.
