What do you guys think?
I personally don't like that it is going away from a wagon/hatchback look. I wish wagons would gain popularity in America. :(
Also, really dislike the plastic looking cupholder area.
Besides that, it seems like a decent refresh.

I looked at different photos of the 2016 this week. I think the new front end makes it look like a catfish. Ugh. I'm casually considering a Prius V, but it sure won't be a 2016 model, yuck.

I think it looks like someone stepped on the old prius and squished it down.
But who cares? Nobody buys them for their sexy good looks, or for the driving excitement so the "sporty" push is kind of a joke. You can have twice the fun for about half the price in a cheap ICE subcompact like the Chevy Cruz, and still get 75% of the mpg.
But I'm sure it will sell just fine, based on 55mpg and a side helping of smugness.

But I'm strange and think the original Prius design is really cute for some reason, and it's my top pick for my next car. Barring a crazy accident, I'm not in the market for a new car for a long, long time, but I was hoping I wouldn't have too get too old of a Prius once that time comes...

Based on the 6th picture in the gallery (back of the blue car), it looks like it is still a hatchback. You can see through the glass below the spoiler and see the headrest of the back seats. I don't think that would be possible with a conventional trunk.

I love the Prius. You can get a great deal on one that are three to four years old. They are also one of MMMs top ten cars for smart people.
Great to see that it is getting an update.

I'll tune in to them around 2030 when they're hopefully only a few grand used. Until then, they're Just Another Fancy-Pants New Car as far as I'm concerned.
I do think they're continuing the recent trend of let's-make-normal-cars-look-like-racecars, which I really don't understand. It's a Prius. Nobody's buying it for the whiplash.

yeah looks a lot like the newer civics, no headroom, no real use aside from driving people (probably person)

Butt ugly, which is forgivable. But why on earth would you make it less useful by getting rid of the wagon?

It's 2.6 inches longer, .6 inches wider, and .8 inches lower. I already have a hard time dropping into them.
10% improvement in fuel economy though. An extra 5mpg? Pretty good considering they were ahead of every other gas/electric car by about 5-10 mpg.

Have you looked at the pictures? It may have a hatch on that low-sloped back rather than a trunk lid; it's hard to tell. But that doesn't make it a functional wagon, just a sedan without even a secure locking trunk and no room to haul anything remotely tall.

Here's the shorthand version for people who can't be bothered:
Getting an extra 1mpg is super helpful if you currently get 1mpg (a 100% increase). Getting an extra 1mpg is less helpful if you currently get 50mpg (a 2% increase). They make it sound like that's some kind of mystical scientific revelation.

As usual, the main issue with people today is that nobody seems to be able to do basic math.
I mean wtf? Do you even have to "crunch the numbers" for that?

Next the hard mathematical question is: is it better to make a million dollar per hour or one hundred dollar per hour in salary?

Yes I have. I don't know the dimensions but it looks very similar.

It looks pretty much nice from the front but I don't like it's back, I think it's quite high and small in length. It should be little bit lower and bit long.

It looks fine. Does anyone on this forum buy a car for its looks anyway? The shape of the hatch doesn't look much different from previous models. I doubt if cargo capacity has been reduced significantly, if at all, in this model.

Yes, I consider looks when I buy a car. Not the only thing I consider, but it does matter to me.
and yes, I'm female. but I want a pretty color if possible, and I do not want an angry or mean looking car. (imagine the car has a face on the front and back ends.)

They've always been ugly and this one is even worse.
Why Toyota didn't adopt the Will VS styling for the Prius I'll never know. It's futuristic (especially for a circa 2000 design), and has plenty of capacity. A decade and a half of refinement of this design could have produced a stunning vehicle.
