Tiny town of Hermann, MO
« on: March 01, 2018, 04:49:08 PM »
We closed today on our Hermann house, a weekend house. The sellers are renting from us until next Monday.

We did various things while there including checking out a couple of shops while killing time. There is a whiskey and cigar smoker’s membership club downtown. funny! And it is cool because you can pay a daily rate. I have a few friends who would enjoy that when they visit us.

.  There is also a German bakery, and a chocolatier.. The main antique shop has gotten much better,  but I suppose that is cyclical as is all of these little fru fru joints but for the bakery, that has been around for decades.

Anyway, in one garden related shop we talked to the guy behind the counter and told him we just bought a House and the name of the street where we bought. He asked “ oh are you the people who grow daffodils and iris”  Haha. Why yes, yes we are.

Small towns, they be crazy for knowing everyone’s business.

You had me at "German Bakery". I've never been to that town but it sounds very cute. Sounds like a fun place for your internet pals to visit ;-). I remember seeing some photos of your other little cottage houses in your historic 'hood and how adorable they were even prefixed up.
I actually have though pt about you. This house is by the Katy Trail. You could stay there in this house,, leave your dog, and take day trips. If it was a time when we were there we would watch your dog for longer periods. The only thing that might interfere is that we are planning fairly extensive renovations so it may not always be habitable.

Hermann is great.  I often take the longer way en route to Lake of the Ozarks coming from St. Louis just to go through Hermann.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
