Presidential candidates ranked by net worth

I can at least take a few out of consideration from this (O'Malley). Sorry, but if he can't get to a positive net worth yourself, then I'm not confident in his ability to increase the country's. I also had no idea Carly Fiorina had so much invested, or exactly how much more money Trump has compared to the other candidates.

Yeah there is really very little excuse not to have a net-worth in the millions given the average age of the people listed.

I am surprised Bernie is short of the million dollar mark at his age.

I too would be wary of someone willing to sink to 0 net-worth at even the youngest age of all the candidates here to pay for college.

Rubio is pretty light net-worth as well but maybe since they are including home debt. I am not sure how much spin they are putting on the "lots of debt" comment and a boat don't sound good though.

Rubio has made over $100,000 per year for over 15 years, at one point being a lawyer making $300,000 per year, he also has made over $1,000,000 from his book deals. Despite all of this he has a negative net worth and has liquidated part of his retirement and incurred a 10% early withdrawal fee. Pretty sad.

I just read the New Yorker profile of him. It is eye opening about his finances. He was making 400k for several years as a lawyer. He has used credit cards that were issued to him while he was in public office for some work on his house. He sounds very un-mustachian to have a negative net worth, so much so he had to liquidate a retirement account with a massive fee. Definitely not someone I would want in office.

I'm most disturbed that Trump is still declared by the media as the "front runner."

Most analysis of Trump continuing to lead the polls, have plenty of good reason to believe that he will not win the Republican nomination. Not including the fact that historically outsider candidates like him who have lead early polls, do not go on to win party nominations.

The Republican race is still too diluted. While Trump has a large number of vocal supporters he is likely too polarizing a candidate to pull many undecided republican voters. Trump can't easily move to the center or change his message. People know him too well and pretty much everyone has already likely decided whether they hate him or love him.

The truth is we likely won't have any good gauge of who will win until states start voting and hopefuls start dropping out.

You also have to wonder if this isn't just a massive publicity stunt on Trumps part. Its hard to say if he actually wants to be president...
