Who wants to sit around in planes and airports their whole life? I guess there's something for everyone.

"When a system can easily be exploited, it's tempting to push it to its limits, for the game of it alone,"

These words are so true!

As pointed out in the article, the airlines started the game and set the rules, so there must be a reason why they couldn't/wouldn't close the exploits long ago.

I'm just shocked at how many points there are for the taking.

This sounds like a fun way to spend a few years. Sadly not being based in the US probably means I'm at a disadvantage in terms of credit cards etc.

Like patrickza, being based overseas makes it much harder to cash in on these offers.  Any ideas on how to make the airlines work for me?

I finally got around to reading this. Wow, the guy featured strikes me as quite sad, lonely, and an alcoholic. I realize he might not be any of these things, but that is how it strikes me. Also it keeps saying he is smart, but anyone who calls the airlines "idiots" in the mainstream press (now at least twice) is just asking for his little game to be shut down. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you . . .

On the plus side, I appreciate that the travel hacking websites and obsessions of people like this guy has set me up with an easy strategy to land 6 figures in rewards points and a companion pass for two years. So, my sweetie or children go anywhere with me for free.

Doesn't appeal to me, but if he enjoys it, great!

Very interesting story; thanks for the link!
