Very mustachian in nature, many of them.

Are you a fan? I'm reading his books, too. Very interesting.

I've always enjoyed listening to his lectures.  Pretty liberating stuff.  Always got me thinking.

I've listened to some of his stuff before.  It can be radical, but is generally really good.

I totally agree. Some is pretty out there, but I love how it makes me think. And his voice is so smooth!

As a teenager I used to make CD's of his talks and fall asleep to them.

The main thing I took away was how language is essentially like the railway tracks of our thinking. A different culture says something a different way a BAM! they think of it in a different way.

Makes you realise how much of the world is nothing close to set in stone, it's just an illusion...

Completely agreed, the most pleasing voice to listen to too.

Yes - I would happily fall asleep to his voice!!! Actually, I find that listening to his talks really help me get down from my impulsive shopping buzzing feeling.

Big fan of Alan Watts here. At least once a year I give one of his lecture collections another listen. I think "Out Of Your Mind" is my favorite, but it was also the first one I listened to so I may be biased towards that one due to the positive memories.

Was a big influence in detaching my mind from the previous ruts it had settled into. It awakened a part of me that I had stifled, ignored or let atrophy for decades.

Good stuff.

Thanks for sharing.  Listening to his lectures at lunch time has given me something "zen" to do!

Huh.  What I've heard so long sounds good.  I'll check out something of his from the library for some long car drives this winter.

Watts' lectures are superb listening for long car drives. Did one a few years back on an 8 hour drive, made it seem like nothing.
