The MMM readers' blogroll (reloaded)
« on: February 15, 2015, 10:36:54 PM »
MMM maintains a blogroll, but he's built such a great forum community that we've also got scores of great bloggers right here in the forums. Many of the authors here respond to PMs and are on the forums quite often, so I've linked their forum profiles as well. Click the link on the name in order to send a blogger a personal message through the MMM forum software. These are a bunch of great writers, and all of them deserve a read!

This post is under construction. Please consider joining the review effort! And a MASSIVE thank you goes out to the kickass reviewers Gin1984 and jordanread! Thanks!

I still can't believe that BraveNewLife isn't on this list somewhere. Wasn't it on the old one?

You can move Paul der Krake's  Mustachian Monthly digest to the inactive blog section as well.  He signed-off in December.

Yeah, I saw that. I should get some more of these reviewed.

I love reading Bakari's blog because I disagree with him so often politically and can so easily understand his point of view anyway - he's actually helped change my mind about quite a few things.

Inspired by these words, I've actually started writing again.
A post last night, another this morning, one I'm working on today, and 4 more titles / ideas to work on in the near future.

Thank you Grant

I havent been a mustachian for long however I have been inspired by the posts, the lifestyle and the badassity!  So inspired in fact I decided to start my own blog.  In this blog I write about my cash flow diaries with personal financial details in effort to to motivate me and watch it grow through the power of real estate rentals.

I urge you to create a blog on your own as well as it definitely motivates you to be better at your finances.

Check it out here:

Feel free to PM me with any questions about anything.  I love MMM.

I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

This is helpful, actually. Every few months (or less often than that) I go through all the links and cull the inactive blogs, but if you notice any let me know and I'll move them!

I started a blog about 2 months ago at FIREsideBlogger.com

Last week, I discussed causes, symptoms, and treatments for the disease Consumerism. Here's an excerpt:

Quote
Consumerism is characterized by an unhealthy and sometimes excessive focus on material goods and services that provide little (or negative) real, long term value. A person afflicted with Consumerism is called a Consumerist.

Consumerists irrationally value material possessions with depreciating value greater than real, appreciating assets such as stocks. This irrationality leads to low or negative savings rates, debt, and the entrapped feeling of living “paycheck to paycheck”.

Always curious to hear feedback on my writing and ideas!

MMM brothers and sisters,

I would be honored and humbled (and surprised) if you would check out my new blog. My world view is largely aligned with MMM's philosophy, although of course filtered through my own lens of experience. It is my thoughts and philosophy on happiness, freedom and whatever else pops into my mind. I'm a big believer in financial freedom as a path to happiness so I think you will find something there that is helpful. Thanks and enjoy :)

I may comment on your blog, but due to my own personal comments and the like, the Red Pill means something way different than the awesomeness that you describe. Also, how can you wrap a cup of something? It's not for this thread, but I enjoyed the first few posts.

It's become the name of misogynist movement that was discussed recently around here.  I won't put any links to clutter up this thread, but you can Google "Red Pill Philosophy" and read some of the links for more info.  (Hint: Don't.)

Nice blog!  :)

Hi all - my recently started blog: http://www.efficiencynerd.com/

It's about efficiency in general, but especially in energy, money, and life in general. I may find myself echoing a lot of what MMM says, but my goal is not simply to mirror him, but to add to and give things my own twist. Check it out!

Too lazy to write reviews, but because I want to fix the internet...not sure what the 'rules' are for when a blog becomes archive material.

If the last post was not in 2016, it's noted. I also differentiated between links that clearly no longer exist, (go to a generic bluehost page = DNE) and links that timed out when I tried to click through.

...

ETA: I didn't look at any of the ones above/below this list.[/list]

Hey Fellow Mustachians,

Long time visitor here. I read the ERE book sometime around 2011, and I was first introduced to MMM back in 2012 when Jacob passed him the proverbial FI torch.

Recently I was inspired to start my own blog, www.MyMoneyWizard.com, due to the intersecting of two simultaneous events in my life. The first happened when I logged into my bank accounts and realized my frugal ways left me as a 25 year old with $100,000, and the second involved watching most of my 20-something peers start down the quick path to financial destruction.

My money philosophy is a little less hardcore than MMM. So while MMM may urge you to never buy anything, I'll show you how to get the best deal if you have to. But rest assured, years of frugal reading have left the FI/ERE movement deeply ingrained in me, so I'll also be doling out plenty of face punches when needed. ;)

I don't (right now) write about FIRE or personal finance. I'm talking about mental health, self care and how that relates to weightlifting. I examine the intersection between confidence, self worth and anxiety/depression. If you'd like to include me in the list, I'm at: https://radiantselfcare.wordpress.com/

Mine millennialmoola.com. I've been "retired" for over a year now. Traveled for six months of that. I say retired because I have about 50% of what I would need to be fully financially indepedent. I've been making up the difference with tutoring, consulting on student loans, and writing.

Hi! My blog is fairly new: it went live in June of this year. It focuses on the different issues related to renting out a room in your own home.

http://www.theliveinlandlord.com

I try to add a new post every day. The tone I'm going for is slightly more professional than what I use on the Anti-Mustachian Wall of Shame and Comedy (fewer F-bombs) but I'm just as politically incorrect, opinionated, and offensive, but at the same time human nature is pretty hilarious. I write about the issues facing residential landlords, ranging from law to history to human nature. The goal is partly to inform and partly to entertain.

Well, after 10 years of writing crap, I finally decided to go ahead and buy a real URL.

So, (while the old links should continue to work), I am no longer at "biodieselhauling.blogspot.com", which had nothing to do with the log content anyway and was just a legacy from the fact that my original blog was hosted on my buisness website's server.

The new home of the Flamboyant Introvert is: randomthoughts.fyi

A tad bit more on the change here: http://www.randomthoughts.fyi/2016/08/random-thoughts-dot-fyi.html

Not coincidentally, I actually started writing again (for the first time in nearly 2 years!) just recently.
Yet to see how long this stays regular this time, but I do have a couple more already written and waiting and several ideas to write soon(ish)

This thread updated due to an annoying spammer, but hey, may as well take advantage! I blog about mothering the large family, homeschooling, eating well on a budget, frugality, books and habits at http://www.CarrieWillard.com

I also write about how I stay thin yet eat 6 times a day at http://www.LaSlimFemme.com

I´ve just launched my own blog, called www.pepepesetapatilla.es (the spanish version of MMM), and I hope it has half the success of this blog.

Compounding Snowballs (gtm I suspect) deserves a link for being a 14 year old who owns Berkshire Hathaway.  Watch her school presentation about the power of investing - powerful stuff for a young teen.
