Which part blew you away?

I'm a middle class white male, in an industry where fashion isn't necessarily important.

When I go to out of the office meetings (representing the people I work for), I wear one of my three, too nice suits. Two from Mens Wearhouse and one off the rack at Banana Republic.

People tend to think I run the place - which actually can get me into a little bit of trouble, as I'm "only" a staffer.

My first career, where fashion WAS very important, I completely neglected my appearance, and it sure didn't help me climb the ladder I'll tell you that.

I think her article is, sadly, bang on.

Sometimes, it is all about image.  I've been there, and experienced it, although, not as much as the writer of that article.
