Hey everyone,

I got to be interviewed by Dave Plier of WGN Radio in Chicago about "retiring" at 25. I talked about the things I've learned, in large part thanks to this community and MMM. One guy called in, I think he was a truck driver or something since the show was really early like 5am, and he was really stunned at the idea of walking away in your twenties from work. The listeners found the MMM concepts to be pretty countercultural and I thought it would be a good audience to hear that message as the only people awake at that time listening to the radio are probably long distance commuters.

After that, I met this guy playing frisbee golf in Reykjavik, Iceland who was interested in talking to me based off our limited conversation and we had a great chat about the financial crisis there. He mentioned that everyone is so obsessed with status symbols in Iceland like flats downtown and Range Rovers that people don't think much of saving. I have no idea if it's the first MMM style article to appear in Icelandic but at least the message is being spread! I saw the article but couldn't read it so I hope it said good things. One of the points I made was that when you buy a 2015 Range Rover the luxury is very temporary because next year's model takes away a lot of the status of owning it, leaving you with a devalued asset.

Anyhow, the link for the radio interview is here, http://wgnradio.com/2015/07/12/25-is-the-new-65-how-to-retire-outrageously-early-and-do-whatever-the-heck-you-want/   Any feedback positive or constructive is helpful if I ever get to do something like this again. Thanks to the MMM forum for helping me sharpen my thinking you guys and gals are the best! I'm writing this from Vilnius, Lithuania just in case you didn't know you can get a nice apartment here for $250 a month all inclusive along with food cost of about $100 a month and eat very well. Some of the fastest internet speeds in the world too.

Cheers,

Travis
