There's a "Slow Ryders" biking group in my town now (an hour south of Detroit). Really seems to be picking up in the local area. The bad part though is that the local group all throws their bikes on their SUVs and trucks them up to Detroit to join the Slow Roll... Great to support your neighbors like that, but well, it seems so wasteful. :-)
