Yeah, that's been done before.  Not as impressive anymore.  But still fun, if you're young.  I'd totally do it.  I'm planning on living full time in an RV at some point (but will need the space over just a small car or truck because of having a wife and future kid).

But it did lead me to this link (from 2007) where a guy built an apartment in a mall parking lot and got away with it for like 4 years:

It's not like living in a car, But I lived for eight months in a trailer. Rather than pay for a trailer space, I parked it in the back of a public parking lot. I put a sign that said OFFICE on the front, and a CLOSED sign on the door. No one ever bothered me.

HAH!  I wonder if people would notice that it was always closed.  But that's awesome.
