Pro baseball stand out lives in Van in Walmart parking lot
« on: April 15, 2015, 01:49:42 PM »
First off this guy is just amazing. Call it a man crush or what have you, but to stay so down to earth and frugal while making millioins of dollars as a professional athlete is so outside of the norm and unconventional he wins my BAD ASS MMM Award of the year (seriously, you guys should give out awards, mustachian of course). I actually tweeted this at MMM a couple weeks ago, but no traction.
This guy is a blue-chip prospect, who lives out of his van in a parking lot during the season, prepares his food on a hot plate, and and surfs in his spare time. Talk about a mustachian living! He also is looking to expand his outreach to include conservation and environmental issues. I'm telling you, i think MMM needs to interview him for a blog post. Yeah he is not retired yet, but he is doing what he loves, and with that low of spending you know savings rate is off the chart!

Plus, check out the fucking MMB (Mr. Money Beard)!

That was a great read. Thank you so much for sharing, and I agree that he would be a wonderful interview for MMM. Also, I don't care if this sounds like lumber-sexual-fan-girlism - that photo where he's trimming up his beard with an ax? Haaawwwt.

Hahaha I consider myself a solidly heterosexual man, (with a wife and two kids), but I can certainly agree to the attractiveness of the rugged lumberjack style beard trimming! Rugged is the new sexy right?

That does it!  I'm growing a beard,  losing 60 pounds and taking 30 years off my age!

We need to petition MMM to interview this guy. He is the very definition of Mustachianism. Without a doubt he has the best earnings-to-expenses ratio of anyone. He must have a 99.99% savings rate or something very close to it.

He's the best example of avoiding lifestyle inflation. This man is (or should be) a hero to everyone on this forum.

Does anybody know how much he earns in a season? I know it's not really relevant as the $2m signing bonus alone is enough when you're living off $800 a month, but I'm just curious.

But Bob, you already look EXACTLY like Bruce Willis.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
