"Ms. Marchi and Mr. Weidner play a gratitude game each night. One night this week, Ms. Marchi said she was grateful for antibiotics for an infection she had. For Mr. Weidner, it was shepherd’s pie — made by his mother-in-law."

Love this. We do gratitude Fridays, when we're all at the table we go around the table and give thanks. (To be fair, the two-year-old usually just manages a non-specific "dank you.")

Also love that the photo is of a couple with laundry on a line behind them.

Have you guys listened to either of Dave Ramsey's recent "Millionaire Hour" shows? I feel like both he and NYT Wealth Matters are deliberately revisiting Millionaire Next Door.

Do you have a link? The millionaire next door was the book that got me focused on this path of living below my means and investing.

Interesting article, and I liked the balanced perspective that most of them had. That said, I am always surprised that people are willing to have their names and photos in the newspaper in articles like this. I personally prefer a little more anonymity.

Never understood the obsession with that in the USA - surely it makes a house look "family" = American motherhood and Apple pie
Banning it is like a realtor saying - you musn't have the smell of fresh baked bread, people will think you are too poor to go to Walmart.

The second one is still up on his site.

Can't find the first one online, but it may be in the podcast archives on iTunes. It was April 30, also second hour.
