Multi-family households

Thought this was intriguing. I don't think I would go for it, but it's good to see people challenging the social norms. :)

Really interesting! I'd love to do something similar, but probably with extended family rather than friends.

I can see the news articles coming out in 5 years....

Dual income households is such a 2000s thing.
The Only way you can afford a decent home nowadays is to split the mortgage in a quadrified income housing.
Home values quadruple in a decade! Yellen still unsure if the market has recovered.

The average size of new American homes is 2500 sq. ft. Some of these floor plans have two master bedrooms or "in-law suites." So it wouldn't surprise me at all to see more of these arrangements popping up. I'd do it if I could find the right location, the right partners and an enforceable agreement in writing to protect everyone's interests.

This guy sounds like he has a lot of insight into himself which is very healthy. I really related to his need to have people around him and his way of achieving that sounds fine to me. My personal experiences living with roommates would keep me out of a situation like this but I have often dreamed of having a close friend or family member living next door or just down the block. I would have no problem having other people's kids around because I just like kids in general.

That is lovely, I admire them.

We couldn't even live next door to our friends, we ended up not really friends anymore for many reasons.

My DH and I have almost several times bought housing that would be one huge apartment building and all friends would be in it, each time it fell through though. Probably a good thing, we were all interested when only one of us had children and now us having 3 kids, we have the smallest family by far :)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
