Awesome. It's amazingly spot-on, especially for conventional media.

Good article, thanks for sharing.

I like how MMM was so badass, they even have to make his accomplishments not sound as good so it wouldn't be too unbelievable.

He was FIRE at age 30, and they say:
Quote
One example: Mr. Money Mustache, a financial blog run by a man who reached financial independence in his 30s. By investing 50% to 75% of his income during his working career in his 20s and early 30s, he reached financial independence before 40.

Both of those are technically true, but actually downplay how badass it is by saying in the 30s/before 40, rather than at 30.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Yeah, I noticed that as well, and frankly I think it was clever. I think that it triggers the BS alarm of the general populace when you mention the possibility of retiring at age 30, since it's so far from cultural norms. Once you start reading the blog, though, it all starts to make sense.

...or they join the IRP and start claiming MMM is "not really retired" ;-)
