I was browsing CNN Money and saw an article with the headline "How soon can I retire?" I was expecting the normal crap of save 15% of your income until you're almost dead.... but they started quoting Mad Fientist and ERE! Crazy.
They even made it spending focused instead of saving to 80% of your income in retirement or whatever.

I've wondered that, too, since I've been seeing more articles about ER.
I also wonder how much is tied to tracking, though. I don't keep cookies around, prevent GA from working, and spoof my headers, but I still see similar articles. Could be an IP tracker or really good fingerprinting.

I haven't looked at the EFF tool in a while and decided to install a Canvas hash spoofer. Now my browser is unique but only until the next header change/canvas call/restart.

I think it's getting more media play generally. My boss brought up an NPR story she had heard at a team lunch in a "can you believe this?!" kinda way. I somewhat awkwardly defended the idea without outing myself too thoroughly.

LOL, just popped in to post this article and saw you beat me to it. I thought it was decent, if fairly common sense.
