Interesting. I'm inclined to view them favorably because they really seem to be enjoying the extra work, instead of just suffering for the fat paychecks.

But both say their overearning is a temporary state of affairs: They plan to scale back when they have kids one day.

Call me pessimistic, but I won't date someone (again...) who willingly works their entire life to the extremes those in the blog do and only want to change if they have kids.

Every time I get close to "overearner" status with side projects and such I always fall back away from the lifestyle to just enjoy life. Even if that means I'm farther away from FI. My side projects are usually entertaining for a while, but usually they turn into "work", an that's when it gets old.

An interesting piece about women that have left the workforce for their kids wanting back in.

Wow that article hit a bit close to home.  I decently have had my spurts on side business with scrapping cars, or selling stuff on Craigslist.

Even though I get tons of hours of vacation overtime is way too tempting, 12 hour minimum shifts all at double time, working a 14-18 hour shift , getting a few hours rest and coming back the next day for overtime.  It is a bit crazy and the body feels it, but 4 figures in 2 weeks feels amazing at the end!
