"I was staying and volunteering on a farm between Bristol and Bath.  I got a caravan on Freecycle, had a wood burner and foraged for wood. I grew, made or foraged for food, and bartered whenever  I needed something like oats. If I was in the city,  I would collect waste food from supermarkets – you wouldn’t believe how much there is to find."

Strange story to be in today's newspaper - in that this was a few years ago (his book came out more than 5 years ago) and he's done quite a few things since then.
