I think this is a reprint or an update of an older article.   I read about Mr. Stoubs 2 years ago, in a slightly more detailed article....

I think he might work for SaskPower as an engineer, but I must say that only 1 car in Regina makes them a bit of a trooper.   It is not a common choice with the winters and limited transit (other than specific routes).

Its not a common choice to retire early either. Even in Saskatchewan they have bicycles, its probably easier to bike on the flatlands than those mountain folks ;)

The article says Mrs. Stubbs has a home daycare. She couldn't leave the house if she wanted to! So it's likely doable for them to share a car in that circumstance.

I live in Regina, me and my family of 4 have 1 car.  I ride my bike in summer and bus in winter.  It is really not that hard.

It seems that from a financial standpoint the answer to the question posed in the article's headline is NO based pm this statement in the article, "Mr. Stobbs and his wife, Rhea, have supplemented their income over the years"
