If any here think they are mustachian when it comes to food, I think this girl might crush you in that department. Seriously impressive. I also like how she is digging her way out of a crappy situation (which yes, she may have got herself into, but we've probably all been in places we didn't want to be).

No sense in worrying about how you got somewhere. If you own it and are willing to do what it takes to turn things around there isn't much else that really matters.

Amazing blog. But at times, heartbreaking. I had a hard time keeping a steady voice when I read out this part last night at the dinner table to my girlfriend:

"Poverty is the sinking feeling when your small boy finishes his one weetabix and says ‘more mummy, bread and jam please mummy’ as you’re wondering whether to take the TV or the guitar to the pawn shop first, and how to tell him that there is no bread or jam."

Poverty is real, and not always made better by mustachian ways. Sometimes it's just called surviving.

I've been there, we were making $400-$500 a month and basic expenses were $600, when you have to decide whether to eat or have a roof over your head.  Its hard and difficult and sometimes you have to get lucky to get out from under it.  But once you do you have the skills to make it when you do.
