As you may (or may not) be aware, I recently started a
Google+ Mustachian community, that then kind of took off once MMM
tweeted about it.
One of the things that came out when we started this was a bi-weekly Hangout On Air show that is tentatively named Frugal FIRE.
Sacha Chua and
I recorded the first episode which is basically a rant about Mustachianism, and a bit about the show. Our second episode featured an interview with
RootOfGood about what to do with your day once you have successfully caught FIRE.
The show airs live every other Thursday, and is posted as an event in the G+ Community. You can ask questions, watch live, and join us for a post show hangout to have slightly more personalized interaction with us and our guest. This is still an evolving thing, but right now we put up bi-weekly challenges that can be applied to people just starting out, or people who are well on their way. Keep that Frugal Muscle strong!!! Since I spend a good amount of my time reading and learning, there are also book reviews, as well as Mustachian tools (like
Mad Fientist's Laboratory,
FIRECalc, etc) and guides. We have lots of different topics we are going to discuss, challenges we are going to issue, and tutorials. If you don't have the time to read every post, we hope this can provide you with a good overview of the basics of Frugal living, as well as an overview of what has been going on in the FI community around the web. Sacha also makes MP3s available of the show for offline listening.
The next one is scheduled for 03/27/2013, and we'll be hitting the basic challenges of starting out with Mustachianism (like getting your SO on board, the differences of Frugal vs. Cheap, etc), and how to overcome them...and by overcome, I mean beat them into submission. This will be the home of the show on the MMM forums, and I'll keep this thread updated with new episodes and news. Check out the
Frugal Fire Show Page for the feed, or the
Youtube Playlist of the episodes.
I've attached the
sketchnote's that Sacha created during the show's for your perusal. Come check us out if you wish, and feel free to leave feedback, we're constantly evolving!
