For WWE Fans Mustachians
« on: May 29, 2014, 05:06:55 PM »
If you are a WWE fan like me, you would have known CM Punk walked out on WWE at the beginning of the year. Here is a recent link that kinda confirms he is retired http://prowrestling.net/article.php?WWE-News-C.M.-Punk-comments-on-being-retired-at-35-37315

The question is not whether he is actually retired or if this is a story but a wrestler walking away from such big $ at 35 is unheard of. So, is CM Punk the WWE Mustachian ? I think so. The guy spoke his mind, made money and says he is settled for life and does not want to do what he does not enjoy anymore. Way to go Punk.

And as usual the internet is filled with "Oh how can you retire at 35", or "You loser" or "You quitter.". Shame on those comments although I agree he could have had a formal announcement if he indeed is retired.

You enter the business on your back and you leave on your back.  He really should have given proper notice, although I suspect the fans would turn on him if he did.  CM Punk recently got married to WWE Diva AJ Lee.  She was granted time off after dropping the Diva's title.  I wonder if she'll return any time soon.

It's amazing to be as young and talented as CM Punk and walk away from the business.  With arenas still chanting for him he might be able to come back after a regenerative leave with minimal fuss from the office.  If he doesn't start a meaningful project soon, the wrestling bug could bite him and he'll be taking independent bookings or trying to come back to WWE.

Honestly, so far he has shown that he is different from the rest of the WWE talents. not much of a suck up, always speaks his mind out, has minimal backstage support and so on.

So, I would be surprised if he wrestles ever again. And that too outside of WWE. But let's see.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
