They even refer to the pile of money people save as a stash. Considering the other similarities to what is talked about here I am thinking it was not a coincidence.

Does the author happen to be hanging out on here?

You won’t be able to retire because there are too many government employees (Federal, state, county, city, village and all teachers, policemen, clerks, and others) that are paid from taxes paid by workers employed by private industries.
Besides that, all of these gov employees can retire after 20 to 30 years of service with fool benefits and almost full pay. To make that even worst, we have to support them for next 30 to 50 years after they stop working in their 40’s or early fifties.
Also remember one thing; all of them are working in public service sector and not producing any revenue. They are paid with money from our tax and their tax is also paid by our taxes. Bottom line – they taking enough money from us and separating portion of it to what they call is “we are paying taxes and we deserve all of the benefits and short years of service”.
So we can’t afford them and as well as you.
Fight to reduce their pay, increase their working years in service to minimum of 40 years and there will be enough money for everyone to retire at 62 years of age.
(Would you pay your house keeper more than half of your and your wife’s combine income and after 20 years when she quits would you pay her to the day she dies full salary she was making, and all her medical and other benefits???????)

Seems there are still a few skeptics ;)

VERY MMM...but one of the first times in a long time in the comment section everyone wasn't bashing the writer as well. Maybe more and more people are seeing the light!

i think the only step he is missing it the "flexibility and openness" aspect incase step 5 back fires. Be flexible/creative and willing to cut spending or produce income in other ways in the case that you have to. But very MMM for sure.
