I had a thought and figured why not throw this out there?
Looking for a very part time nanny. Maybe 2 hrs/day, flexible. Someone who loves/enjoys playing with kids and reading to them.
Pretty much all nanny/daycare situations are for many more hours than we need. We're both FIRE'd, but also would like a break sometime.
We have a 3-year old and 1-year old. A third coming in December.
In exchange, you'd have free room and board (food).
I'd value this trade as roughly: Room ($600/mo) + food ($250/mo) = $850.
Your time: 2 hrs/day x 30 days/mo = 60 hours/mo.
$850/60 hrs = $14.16/hr.
Ideally this situation would be great for someone who is:
A) Mustachian on their way to FIRE, location independent with their work (works online/remotely), and looking to cut expenses in order to increase their savings rate, or
B) Mustachian already FIRE'd who is looking to cut costs in FIRE for a lower WR.
In either case, it'd be someone who viewed playing with kids as something they enjoy and would add to their life. No nighttime requirement ever, it'd just be playing with them/reading to them.
This person would be treated as a friend we hang out with, rather than employee. That would be our ideal situation, someone who wants to move in, have cheap costs, play with kids a couple hours a day, and can still work their flexible hours (or doesn't need to).
Gender irrelevant, age irrelevant. Personality important.
PM me if interested.
Cheers!
