Hello Fellow Mustachians,

Long-time lurker here, I was inspired to post after seeing that so many of you work in the tech field. I'm currently working in a tech job (combo of solutions architect, IT project manager and business analyst roles) and looking for opportunities where I may be able to earn more. My strengths are client relations, presentations, project management and translating technical topics for non-technical audiences. My weaknesses are hands-on development or IT networking skills; I interface with or manage people doing these tasks rather than completing the technical tasks myself. I changed careers relatively recently and have previous experience in general management (6 direct reports & 6 dotted-line), labor relations (union representative) and public service (represented a high level elected official).

My current position: Implementing technology systems on a new large account for a creative services and marketing production company. I am remote (work from home) based but have spent far more time traveling than I agreed to when I accepted the position (3 of 4 weeks in July). I've been with my current company for a year and a half and am not sure that they are a great fit long-term (expensive insurance, poor work-life balance, slow to promote).

What I want: A remote based (work mostly from home) position with benefits that utilizes my skill set (any of the above). I am willing to travel but no more than 50% of the time. I'm looking for an opportunity with a base salary of 75k or more. Any and all potentially relevant postings or tips are welcome.

Other details: I currently live in a paid-off home in a low COL area that would be difficult to sell without taking a sizable loss. I would consider renting it, but my husband is pretty opposed to that idea. While I don't love the area we currently live in, I do love being debt-free. I would consider relocating but only for a full-time, permanent position paying 100k+.
