Oops, may have posted this in the wrong forum before ...

I'm a female Kiwi Mustachian travelling around the States at the moment on a scholarship, and looking for budget-friendly places to stay in New York next week (July 25-Aug 1). I'm on Couchsurfing, which is a wonderful movement, and I'm also partial to sleeping in Korean jimjilbangs (24-hour spas with family nap rooms - a most civilised invention) - but wondering if anyone knows of any cheap, safe places to stay in Manhattan if they don't work out.

Many thanks!

hmmm... I think there are a few hostels in NYC and I've heard some are pretty good/safe. The farther you go from Manhattan, the cheaper things will probably get:

Do you have any reward points from credit cards or airline miles? You could cash those in for a hotel. Or, look in NJ close to the public transit that goes to Manhattan (IDK what it's called, though!)

Have you tried just sleeping in your time machine?
