Splitting credit card referral bonuses?
« on: May 31, 2022, 11:52:37 PM »
Greetings all - I'm in the market for a new Sapphire Preferred, which as I understand it can net a referrer $150 worth of points.  There's plenty of places around the internet to grab a referral link, but none seem to have set up a system in which the payout from Chase's marketing department benefits both parties.

I'm hoping to grab a link from someone who can commit to sending over half the referral bonus upon approval.  Is this something folks on this forum have been comfortable coordinating in the past?  Feel free to PM if interested, we could both net a quick $75 tax-free bucks.

If this is a no-no, feel free to nuke this post.  (however, I'd be interested to hear the explanation as to why)

Kudos for trying, but since there is a signup bonus for the CSP (and has been for a long while), I doubt you'll get much takers on your request.

It just wouldn't make sense for someone to do the referral work and share their referral bonus 50/50 with you, unless you're willing to do the signup work and share your signup bonus 50/50 with them.

The first CSP signup bonus I googled indicated that the signup bonus is worth about $750 in travel.  Are you going to share $375 of that with your referrer?

Or, to make it simpler and only have one transaction instead of two, you could just use the referral link and pay your referrer $375 - $75 = $300.

On second thought, if you do that you may get some takers.

Good luck.

We be free if we try

Ya know, I’ll bite, to a degree. To me your makes sense, because the other option is I get no points (no referral), and I’m new trying out referrals. So if you (or anyone else) use my referral below, I’ll send you $50, or 1/3 the value of the points I get, once they’ve been added to my Chase account.

Earn 80,000 bonus points with Chase Sapphire Preferred. I can be rewarded, learn more.

See if this works, as I’ve never tried this before. Thanks.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
