I recently read the Nexus trilogy by Ramez Naam and enjoyed them immensely. (Actually I listened to the audio books which were well performed). This is a near future science fiction world turned on its ear by the development of new technology that allows for the abrupt development of post-human and meta-human life. I will not spoil the book, but I will say that Naam is who you can read when you have run out of Neal Stephenson books to consume.

Wholeheartedly agree. Maybe not quite on the level of Stephenson or Gibson, but quite worth reading in his own right.

Yes, these were great. He also has some non-fiction books regarding futuristic technologies which sound pretty interesting.

Agreed, quite a good series. I read it maybe 6 months ago, after GCC recommended it, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Funny, I just read my first Stephenson about two weeks ago (Snow Crash) and thought his was a more primitive version of the same idea (though, to be fair, it was published before the first graphical web browser was released), but that Nexus is the better, more modern version (again, written 22 years later, with all the benefits that entails).
