Golden Albatross - Please PreOrder!
« on: May 14, 2020, 01:31:53 PM »
Grumpus Maximus, along with @Nords, have completed "The Golden Albatross," which is about measuring whether it's worth it to stay at a terrible job based on what your pension is worth.

I just pre-ordered the eBook and it's at #23 in its category. If just a few of us pre-order I think we could drive it to #1.

Having helped with two rounds of editing, I've been able to apply this to my positions with my FT federal job and PT state one and can say it's definitely helpful to anyone with a pensionable job, but, mostly, I'd just like to support Grumpus and Doug for the good work they've done for the community.

Thanks, Chris, it's great to see the announcement!  I think we've been discussing this for nearly two years of outlines at our local coffee shop.

Grumpus did all the hard work-- I only wrote the foreword, and I didn't even have to edit it.

And yes, it's a very good book.  Better yet, it's a fast and compelling read.  You already know that I'm not a "gut it out to 20" guy from the Command Retention Team.  Grumpus will give you all the info (both financial and lifestyle) to make the decisions which are best for you.

[Best of all, and I mean this in a "mutual success" sort of way, having Grumpus' book on pre-order means that the ChooseFI publishing pipeline is clear to proceed with their next release:  the money-savvy family book that my daughter co-wrote with me.  We've just finished reviewing the internal layout and we should have draft cover designs on social media within the next few weeks.]

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
