For those who like all or parts of what JBP says and writes, have you seen the lecture series "Awakening from the meaning crisis" by his colleague at the University of Toronoto, John Vervaeke?

Here's a playlist of currently 30 hour long lectures.  I think more are coming:

This requires focus to follow but I think it is very interesting.

I finished the book and I thought it was pretty okay. Nothing too groundbreaking, but a lot of common sense kind of stuff presented in a way that Millennial and Gen-Y kids who grew up without guidance can understand. It is definitely geared toward college-educated young people, which makes sense since Peterson is a college professor. Folks on Hillbilly Mountain would need a version of these rules discussed in less flowery language.

Unimpressed.  I skimmed it and listened to a few podcasts.  He's not horrible, but he seems like a self-help author, throwing in right-wing religious controversy to help get attention.  If you like Dave Ramsey, you might also like Peterson.

I read it.  It's mostly Jung repackaged.  Not sure why JP is considered controversial, I don't view him as a right-winger or anti-women at all.

Brilliant guy, with great maps for life.  I don't really recommend his books though, despite owning both.  His classroom and biblical lectures are MILES above the execution in the books in my opinion.  He achieves an excellent balance of focused lecture and sporadic tangents that makes his message far more digestible.  And because he's in front of an audience I'd say he's riffing in a more embodied way.  That's not really related to his content but I appreciate a good performance when I see it, after years of being a jazz musician myself.

The analysis of the Lion King or his Personality lectures are a great place to start.

The interview with Jocko Willink is also absolute gold, although it's substantially darker and covers some uncomfortable territory.
