I loved reading this book, it must have been about ten years ago.

I found his deconstruction of why we consume to be revealing. And the revelation quenched my desire to consume. Why continue to be manipulated by the marketers in NYC? Interestingly enough, near the end he states that consumerism may be bad, but it's better than many alternatives. Obviously, the book pre-dates Mustachianism.

Check out the reviews on Amazon and then get it from your local library (or buy a copy--they're pretty cheap when buying used)

Has anyone else read or heard of this book?
