DS is 10, going on 11.
I'm re-reading "Does it Fart?" -- having previously re-read "How To" and "What If" (aka long-form xkcd). DW is reading various graphic novel series to him. The Hamster Princess series, Danny Dragonbreath, Loud Boy, Big Nate, etc. She's read him Girl Genius in the past (warning: cleavage galore!). I've read him Asterix (... and had discussions about the problems with sexism/racism in those books) in the past.
I did get him to let me read the Hobbit, but he was upset during scary parts, so I'm not sure we're ready for LoTR.
I've been thinking about digging up my old X-Wing: Rogue Squadron novels and seeing if he'd let me read those to him. He loves Star Wars so there's a chance.
That said he reads way more on his own than we read to him at this point, sometimes preferring to just sit and read on the couch with DW, before his bedtime, rather than have her read to him.
