our cost of a new baby

My wife had baby shower and we received $500 cash, $500 in gift cards and other gifts. Mostly clothes.

On craigslist, we spent $200 on a used bob stroller and $180 on a bassinet. We should be able to sell on craigslist again, after we are done with them. We got a car seat from my sister-in-law.

We spent the $500 cash, $500 in gift cards and an extra $200.

Because of the success of the baby shower, we have only spent about $200 of our own money to get everything ready for baby. We have tons of diapers and clothes newborn to 2 years.

Around $1,000 in gift cards/monies, 1 car seat, 1 monitoring system, 1 high chair, tons of clothes,

I shelled out around $1,300 for nursery furniture.  The baby  shower should cover the cost of everything else.  I am pretty happy with this result.
