I see this is an old thread but I just wanted to add, for the benefit of anyone doing research later, that cloth diapers are often more time-saving and convenient. If you run out you can just put another load into the wash. You don't have to wrangle your other children and the baby into the car or the stroller to get to the store to buy more. And you don't have to haul bags of used diapers to the curb either.

Having said that, it is harder to cloth diaper if you don't have regular access to a washing machine, or if you have plumbing issues where you have to limit your wash water usage.
