FREE NATIONAL PARK PASS FOR 4th GRADERS & THEIR FAMILIES

Every kid in in 4th grade gets a free pass to any national park if you register on everykidinapark.gov NO KIDDING!! I learned of this on public radio and then checked it out. WOW! Nice!
I happen to have two boys 3rd and 4th grade, so it looks like I can get a free pass next year too! I looked at the fine print & it looks like the pass also includes the 4th grader and all other children under 16 with the 4th grader and up to three adults. If a national park / site has a parking / car fee, it includes all the children under 16 and up to three adults that are all in one passenger car. Since we are planning a trip to the Badlands, SD, Mt. Rushmore, and Yellowstone this summer, this pass will come in handy! I already printed mine!

So is it kids in 4th grade today, or starting 4th in the fall? I have a third grader currently, 4th grade in the fall.

It says that it is for current fourth graders. The current pass is valid until August 31, 2016.
The instructions state: "Current third graders can get their fourth-grade passes starting September 1, 2016"

Yep, I have a fourth grader.  We used it this spring at Zion and Bryce National Parks. Kind of hoping I can swing a third this summer, maybe Sequoia??

Awesome! I've got mine printed, but haven't used it yet. Did you have any problems using it? Did they seem to know what it was right away? Thanks!

Used it at the beginning of the month in San Diego.  My 4th grader was proud to have provided the family admission to the park and to turn in her paper copy for a real pass from the ranger at the gate.  impressive promo.
