Barefoot Shoes for Kids?
« on: September 21, 2023, 12:15:52 PM »
Hello all.  I have a 1 year old boy who's just learning to walk, and as much as we'd love to keep him barefoot all day, our daycare requires him to wear shoes while he's there.  I've been researching barefoot shoes and am wondering if anyone else has any experience they'd be willing to share.  We'd like something with a flat, flexible sole and wide toe box.

I've heard good things about Vivo Barefoot shoes, although they cost more than I'd like to spend for shoes he'll grow out of quickly.  We buy used clothes for him whenever possible, but good shoes have been hard to find secondhand and I don't want to cheap out and cause problems for him later in life.  Thanks in advance for any advice!

Following because I too have a one year old in the same situation. I got a pair of robeez and a pair of ro+me. Still unsure of boots for the winter. I love vivos for myself but so pricey for kids. I follow thebarefootshoeguide on Instagram and she has lots of good options but I'm not in the states so duties+shipping is expensive.

The Merrell barefoot shoes for toddlers are a great sturdy option. I think the line is called bare steps. They go on sale often. I have kids that are under 10 and one pair of merrells will last the whole school year if they don’t grow out of them.
