Anyone got experience with cloth diapers from Ebay?

Has anyone had experience buying knockoff diapers from Ebay? I'm looking at listings like this one:

Considering that the price ends up at $2.11/diaper, it's very tempting - I don't usually see any brand name used ones for under $5/piece. Can anyone comment on the general quality though?

They look like knock-off Kawaiis. I think arebelspy uses cheap knockoff diapers and can weigh in.

I had some real  Kawaiis that I bought used. They were OK. BumGenius (I had a couple of new ones and several used) fit much better AND the inserts were way better. When your baby turns into a toddler, the cheap thin little inserts that come with made-in-China diapers will not be adequate even in the daytime. (At night, for a toddler, I used to use one BG microfiber insert, one or two large hemp inserts, and cover the whole thing with nylon pants. It worked, but looked like a flotation device and was prone to stinkiness.)

I successfully replaced the Velcro in some BGs when it stopped sticking--I preferred Velcro, but opinions vary--and you can also replace the elastic.

Another option would be to get the cheap Chinese diapers and just be prepared to get or make new inserts when baby grows. I notice, though, that unlike real Kawaiis or anything with Velcro, these do not offer the ability to cross the flaps in front (can't attach one flap on top of the other), which might make it hard to adjust the size small enough for a little baby.

It's not all or nothing. Always good to get a variety of things :-). Maybe some of these and some other stuff.

I personally never bought any used diapers on ebay, though I did sell several. If you're gonna buy used, I'd suggest finding a nicer brand you then looking for it on ebay (unless you're looking to spend as little money as possible). We use flats and covers for my son so I never bought any used AIOs or pockets, but I've bought a ton of used covers. I've preferred to buy them at consignment sales because I can look at them in person and see how stretched the elastic is, if the velcro still sticks, etc. I hear it's easy to replace velcro/elastic, but I personally don't feel like making the effort. Most of the used covers I've bought have been about $5, so I didn't think it was worth it.

the most important thing about buying used diapers, though, is properly prepping them before first use. Stripping and then bleaching is essential. I found the Fluff Love & CD Science group on FB to be very helpful for that.

I have used pocket diapers, my husband likes them, but I prefer flats and covers. They wash up much better, last longer, leak less and you avoid the stink of microfiber. I have not tried those exact diapers, but would assume the inserts are thin, requiring more then one per change.

As long as you don't mind washing most days, you really only need 12 diapers and 3 covers. The large flats and one size covers fit my baby well by 6 weeks, before that they fit but were a little bulky. They will last until potty training. You can use disposables until then, if cost is your reason for cloth. I prefer to avoid all disposables, so I went with 18 newborn prefolds and 6 small covers, which was plenty. The newborn prefolds also make great overnight doublers with the flats when baby is older. I bought new, organic and still spent less then $200. They have also lasted through multiple kids.

Use em, love em.  Cheap enough that if you don't like them, you probably only spent the equivalent of a few packs of disposable diapers.

We spend around $60 total for 10 covers and 20 inserts.
