THERE IS AN ALDI'S IN MANHATTAN. WHAT.

Sorry for the all caps.  I just found out and I've heard again and again from mustachionados or frugalistas what a good deal this place is.  Off the bat, I see a couple produce items I can get cheaper at local stands and bodegas, but ymmv.

I have strong feelings about Aldi, having gotten used to them everywhere in Copenhagen and then being surprised when they started popping up all over the place after I moved back to the states. I'm super impressed with Aldi's tactics, targeting American food deserts and expanding like crazy.

That said, there are some foods I'd buy there and others I'd avoid... kind of like a European Walmart. If you can get over the Anti-Mustachian practice of buying all your supplies in one supermarket, this is a golden option.
