The middle of nowhere (Broome, Australia)
« on: September 11, 2016, 07:25:47 PM »
I've recently moved to Broome, so was curious as to whether there are any other people on the forums here?

Not that I am aware of-- all the Sandgropers seem to be in Perth or slightly south of it (until now!)

Broome... wow.

What prompted that change of scene?

(Kinda jealous... would love to try living in a far-flung place just for the experience of having done so...)

My man got a job flying with Cobham, doing coastwatch. We got a Broome basing so I'm expecting us to be here for at least 3 years.

So make a plan for it. Do it. Doooo iiiiit! Go on. If it looks like you'll be FI in good time, take a year or two off and take up a post in a far-flung place (if such exists in your industry). Or go work as a jackaroo or something ;) All things told it's easier to do it when single too.

Oh you are a bad influence :D

Ok let me think. Lets do some planning (even if it comes to nought)

Paging @Flyingkea

Looks like you've been away for a few months so not sure if you'll see this.... but turns out I'll actually be in Broome for a day in a few weeks time.

Could do a very quick Mustache meetup if you're not too busy??

Hey, I am in Karratha these days. Will let you know next time I am in Broome. It happens...
There are actually a lot of Mustachians here... They just don't have a word for it ;-)

:O Karratha? Chasing the renewed mining boom that is quietly taking place?
