Sorry to miss the 10/12 meet-up, but I've learned from experience the socializing during the week doesn't work so well for me. Have a great time!

Hello fellow Seattle MMMers,

Sorry to jump in with a non meet-up question, but was wondering if anyone can recommend a good mechanic. I'll be buying a car and need a mechanic who can give the car a check-up to see if it's a good choice to purchase.

Many thanks for your help! (And now back to regularly scheduled programming.)

If you are buying a Japanese car I cannot say enough good things about #1 Japanese Auto in Greenwood. Tony is the man!

Lioe's in Beacon Hill does free pre-buy inspections and is great, as is CMarr in the ID. CMarr is my regular mechanic but they were too busy when I needed an inspection, so I went to Lioe's instead. They kept me from buying what would have been a very bad car!  I have a lot of friends who go to both of them and it is always a competition about which is better. They are both great -- very honest, friendly, reasonably priced, and don't treat you like an idiot.

Soon to be Seattle transplant checking in. I won't make this meetup but hoping to catch the next one.

I hear y'all like Vanguard and beer. We're going to be great friends.

Hey Paul der Krake, welcome soon! One minute, tiny, inconsequential correction. Seattle has ale, not beer. If you like ale, you will be in an almost literal hog heaven. If you happen to prefer lager, or something that's not ale, biiiiiig problem.

I don't mind organizing the next Great Seattle Meetup. I can't promise any celebrities like Jon_Snow or Spartana, though. I just ain't that cool.

How about 12-Oct, at Northlake Pizza, around 1800? (click-y for map-y). Good beer, good pizza, interesting ambiance, easy parking.

Any interest?
Something just came up that I will have to be out of town for on Wednesday. Keep my seat warm for the next one.

Have fun, everyone.  I'd LOVE to go, but will be working my side-gig at the Sounders match.
A win solidifies our place in the playoffs!
Go Sounders!

10/12 sounds good.

Note that Northlake Tavern is a 21 and over establishment... so no mini-staches would be able to attend.

Aw.  I was going to stop by, but I guess not.

Hm, I might be able to make it after all. I didn't think there was a bus between there and work, but there totally is. I must have been checking the wrong time of day.

If you use the satellite option on google maps, you'll get a good feel for the nearby parking. I'd rate it as low-acceptable, without being awful. There are a few small parking lots near the restaurant, plus a few stalls in front.

Hi all! I think we're the first ones here - we grabbed a largish table in the back on the left side, past the bar.

Thank you everyone, I had a great time this evening. It was wonderful to meet and hear your stories. Wish we had longer to chat!

I also need apologize to everyone who was there tonight. I stepped outside to take a phone call from my brother. While I was away the group disbanded, and the check was covered in my absence. It was seriously uncool of me to let you all  (or just some of you?) cover my beer and pizza...I hope I see you again at future meetups to buy you each a beer to make up for it (and continue getting to know you better!).

Thanks everyone for another awesome get-together last night, we loved meeting and chatting with everyone. Thanks to Sailor Sam for organizing! I'm once again struck by just how amazing our local mustachian community is, and always leave inspired, energized, and anxious for the next meetup.

PowerMustache - no worries on the check, it happens. Pay it back or pay it forward, I figure those things eventually equal out over time. :-)

Jumping in here, in spite of not being in seattle. I hope to come to a meetup there sometime- 100% of the seattle mustachians I've met are awesome. Unfortunately, I have a fair bit of a drive to get there, so it would have to be a mid-day type event. If it was a weekend mid-day, SirB might even be able to come!

Anyway, hint hint nudge nudge about time of day for the next one =P

I'm feeling the need for a meetup!

Proposed time/place:   Friday, November 11 (Veteran's Day), 3:30pm, public meeting space near Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Third+Place+Books/@47.754297,-122.279594,14z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xf435b2011c4e6e0b!8m2!3d47.7542973!4d-122.2795935?hl=en-US

I'll do my best to snag some tables near the chess set.  This is a place that works with BYO food/non-alcoholic drink.  There is also a cafe for those who want to treat themselves.

Changed the time to afternoon to accommodate the possible appearance of Bracken Joy and monstermonster, who are making noises about driving up from OR.  Unfortunately I think Jon Snow will be in Baja by then.  Maybe he can teleport in some deep fried poblanos....

I'm in! Putting it in my calendar now.

It doesn't look like my new employer observes Veterans' Day... and as much as I want to come, it probably wouldn't look very good if I bailed mid-afternoon the first week on the job.

Saturday, Feb 25 Meetup

Early bird eats worms and all that. I will be in Seattle in February! Anyone who's interested in meeting up on Saturday the 25, pm me your email. Coordinating is easier that way.

Location suggestions welcome. Most likely will be in the afternoon.

Seriously considering this depending on the money situation at the time. Probably combining with a Vancouver trip.

I found a big space in the NE corner - look for a row of five tables with green mustache sticky notes on them. Bracken joy and monster monster are coming but I don't know if there will be Bowie costumes and platform shoes. See y'all soon!

Hope you kids have fun. See you in February. :)

At the end of the last meeting I was nominated to plan the next one.  I'm looking for a good meeting location now but wondering what days of the week and time frames work best for everyone.  With holidays coming up I'm assuming during the week is less likely to conflict with other plans.  Thoughts?
