asch: Arboretum? The cherry blossoms should make for a sweet context to discuss all things MMM (and perhaps toss a disc).

brandonbrews: Excellent. Would love to squeeze something in while Stateside.

I'm also interested in picnics, what do you guys think about Discovery Park or the UW Botanic Gardens? (that's where the Arboretum is, right?)

I'd be into a meet-up at the Arboretum, especially now that it's pretty easy to access via light rail/biking from Husky Stadium.

I'm interested. I'm planning to go to the 520 bridge opening on Saturday, but I should be able to meet up at around 4 or 5. I'm free on Sunday.

Unfortunately I'm a little too busy to cook something for a potluck, so I'll just bring my own sandwich, drink, and chips or something and be self-sufficient.

I'm in for a potluck! Or for people to bring their own food and socialize.  Are you all familiar with Doodle? I made a day/time poll for finding a common free time for us: http://doodle.com/poll/yf7xgkxr3ugnccvc.  Check it out; maybe it's overkill, I've just found it useful in the past.

The Arboretum is a big place that I haven't explored much, anybody have a favorite easy to find location for meeting at?

@asch: Definitely not overkill! I've added my times as well! And as for a meet up spot, how about the Lookout Gazebo? Here's a map: http://depts.washington.edu/uwbg/docs/ArboretumMap.jpg

@hamsterman: (Laughing!) I think BYOS is just fine. Definitely less hassle.

Too bad I missed the meeting at Chuck's. I live just a block away.

Awesome! It looks like Saturday 2pm - 5pm is the winner, I'll probably be there early to make sure I can find the place though. I'll post to the FB group as well.

As @janice suggested let's plan to meet at the Lookout Gazebo (http://depts.washington.edu/uwbg/docs/ArboretumMap.jpg).

Looking forward to seeing everybody! Also, probably a good idea to bring a snack and a water bottle. I'm planning to bring some home made hummus to share.

Remember that the 520 celebration is happening today also, and may impact traffic and parking in the surrounding areas including the arboretum. http://www.520golong.com/

Anyone up for a Chucks Hop Shop meetup again this week on Wednesday or Thursday?

Proposed topic for discussion: Into the great beyond- investing after meeting tax sheltered IRA limits.

Anyone have a strong preference for day of week? I suggest Wednesday at 6pm at Chucks in the CD unless Thursday works better for someone else.

Ooh -- I can probably come to this one!  I got my free one week Orca card that I have to use -- it expires on Friday.  Is Chuck's anywhere near the Capitol Hill light rail station?  I can google it, of course, but too lazy at the moment....

You probably looked this up already, but the answer is, not really. It's a manageable walk (little less than a mile, maybe?) but there would be some serious uphill on the way back. All things considered, I would think you could swing it, what with all your treadmilling, but that's just my first thought.

I might be able to make this, depending on work. At least this time I will recognize Glenstache so I will identify the mustachians straight away.  :) Maybe someone will know something about tax loss harvesting.

Yes. 6pm at Chuck's Hop Shop in the Central District.

I'll try and remember to bring a mustache themed something-or-other printed on a paper.

Same here. I was bummed to miss the arboretum and Chuck's, but maybe we'll be able to catch the next one. We'll be focused on moving and settling in to the new place for the next couple of weeks, but hopefully things will calm down a bit after that.

Sorry you guys couldn't make it -- we were a small group, just Glenstache, me and Curious Cricket.  Great conversation and excellent liquid refreshment, though! Look forward to the next one.  We might try the north end Chuck's for a change of pace.

Definitely nice meeting you and Glen.

I'd be much more likely to join at the north Chuck's...just a short walk from my place.

Ack. I'm sorry to have missed you all. I arrived late (10:30) and couldn't see anyone other than the group doing grounds-keeping, so I assumed folks had gone off on a trail walk :-/.

I hope to have better luck next time.

Sorry we missed you!  We must have headed out walking just before you got there.

FYI, I'm headed to China for a couple of weeks so I won't around for weekend walks or other meetups.   Hope to resume them once I am back, though -- especially if the weather stays like it was this morning!

Serves me right for being late. :-) Anyway, have a wonderful (and productive) trip back in China.

Last year the pre-Camp Mustache meetup at Gasworks park was a great time. Over on the facebook page, it was mentioned that Camp Mustache is just around the corner.

I suggest a meetup at Gasworks Park at 6pm on Thursday May 26.

Gather on the Amphitheater Lawn, same place as last year.
http://www.seattle.gov/parks/_images/maps/picnics/gasworks.pdf

I may be out of town that day for work, but wanted to get the ball rolling a bit ahead of time. Any input, suggestions, whatever welcome and encouraged.

Bring some food to Gas Works! I don't think anyone left hungry (or thirsty!) last year.

Kudy - I'll just throw this out there.....I am running a carpool (Adam V on the carpool page) to CM on Friday from my house. Basically just having folks come from the airport and meeting here (3224 S Ferdinand St, 98118) and then we are taking off around 3 for camp. You and your carpool buddies are more than welcome to swing by and hang out (we have beer in the fridge) and if all else fails Columbia City (the hood we live in currently) has great bars and restaurants a block and a half down the street from our house. And fair warning, we have two kids and a dog......the dog's nice....the kids....depends on their mood! :)

I'll bring Kirkland light beer ($0.48/can) and my portable Weber Q, and some ears of corn for roasting.  The more corn the merrier.
