Kudy - I'll just throw this out there.....I am running a carpool (Adam V on the carpool page) to CM on Friday from my house. Basically just having folks come from the airport and meeting here (3224 S Ferdinand St, 98118) and then we are taking off around 3 for camp. You and your carpool buddies are more than welcome to swing by and hang out (we have beer in the fridge) and if all else fails Columbia City (the hood we live in currently) has great bars and restaurants a block and a half down the street from our house. And fair warning, we have two kids and a dog......the dog's nice....the kids....depends on their mood! :)

Thank you! That's just my style ;) I'll run it by the others in my carpool, but I think it's likely we'll want to swing by. I'll PM you my phone number.

I'll be there! Pro tip: Fremont Brewing (IMO the best beer in the world) is just down the street and they sell growlers and cans.

It's a big park. Where will you guys be?

It's been a month since MMM and the Mad Fientist joined us at the meetup, where I promised to try to organize another one to keep the community rolling. So to continue the fun, how about we go back to the place where the magic happened, Gasworks Park.

How is Saturday, July 9 for everyone?

If anyone is interested in meeting up for a beer at Chuck's Hop Shop on 85th between now and then, let's pick a date.  Pretty much any day other than June 30th or July 5th work for me.

Yes, I'd be interested. I can't commit to a particular date in advance due to having a baby at home, but set a date and I might be able to show up!

Hello fellow Seattle Mustachians. Wife and I are moving to the Wallingford Neighborhood in Seattle with our 7 month old next week. I see you have a meetup pending for July 9, would be interested in joining. Anybody else with kids in Seattle?

Cool.  @nickybecky1, What time are you planning on for the 29th?  My wife's mom is coming to town but we'll make it if we can.  Otherwise we'll be planning on the Gasworks meetup on the 9th.

How about 5p on July 9? That way, people can enjoy the day on their bikes or their feet and then meet after.

I'm trying to persuade my wife and 11-month-old son to come.

July 9th works for me. I'll just watch UFC 200 later :-)

I know there was a meetup at Chucks hop shop in CD once before. Is anyone interested in meeting there again?

Let's meet at Gasworks Park on July 9 at 5p the same spot where we had the last meetup when MMM and Mad Fientist were here: http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/gasworks.jpg

Looks like the Gasworks meetup should perfectly align with the... ahem... "tail end" of the World Naked Bike Ride, taking place from 1-5:

Good times.

Oh, they were there (in a-bun-dance?), just next to the grassy hill.

Hike, sorry I missed you. I biked around a bit, trying to locate some familiar faces, but had no luck. I hope other folks managed to find each other!

We had a good group of 10, including two little MMMs! Thanks everyone for coming out. And FiveSigmas, sorry we missed you. I hope the naked bikers weren't too emotionally scarring.

I'm up for making this meetup more regular. I can't meet again until mid August.

How was the Chuck's Hop Shop gathering?

Ack! Too early in the month for me - there will probably a post in my Journal explaining what I already have planned for a few days around Sept 7th. I would have really liked to have seen Seattle crew again. :(

Yes, please!

It would have been nice to see you too Lhamo!

Where: Chuck's Hop Shop in the Central District    http://www.chuckscd.com/
When: Wednesday, September 7 at 6pm +/-

Celebrity MMM guests: encouraged (that means you Jon Snow)

That first bit...the place sounds AWESOME (damn caps-fetish). I will get there one day. After reading the beer list...I need to get there. :)

That second part...that's  just crazy talk. And makes me uncomfortable. ;)

PS: JS - come down!  Weather likely not to involve torrential sheets of cold rain.

I want too! The rain reference no doubt refers to what I have come to call the Seattle MMMMM event of 2015....Mr. Money Mustache Meetup Monsoon. You know what...I think the deluge made it all the more memorable.

Never fear JoJo and Jon Snow (alliterates nicely!), there will be more meetups!

At one of the previous meetups, the idea was floated of doing a mini-camp mustache with PNW mustachians, and likely not costing four or five hundred a head. This idea has some merit. Not surprisingly, there is a strong outdoor streak, so it could revolve around camping somewhere nice with conversation around the fire.

Hi all! I'm a new addition to the MMM forum (though I've done my share of lurking) but I figured this is a good a time as any to introduce myself and get to know some people in person - count me in, if I can manage to find the place! If you see somebody that looks like he's underage and out of place, that's probably me. And pointers on how to spot you guys?

First day of school for DD and the bank is supposed to call me back tonight about our mortgage payoff, so I'll have to miss tonight, too.  Hope you all have fun!

Let's have another one fairly soon -- maybe at the Greenwood Chucks for us northenders?  Week of Sept 19th would be good for me (DD on a school trip that week, so parental responsibilities reduced)

That location and week sound like a fine idea to me!

This idea was discussed towards the end of the evening last night. How many would be interested in this and, if interested, where would people fall on the primitive camping to rooms with heat and electricity scale?

Timing? If camping oriented, probably mid October or wait until the spring.

I'm attending a charity event on the 18th...but should be available for the week of the 19th. A location with a hotel within walking distance would be peachy as I'll probably do an overnighter if I do drive down for one of these. :)

Not sure about hotels, but there's a bed and breakfast a few blocks from my house, and roughly 15 minutes' walk to the proposed north Chuck's location.

Very sorry to have missed last night's get-together, and looking forward to the 21st's!

During the daytime of the 21st I'm booked, so won't be able to join in any pre-brew walking, but if JS stays over and folks would also like to do a morning walk at Green Lake or elsewhere on the 22nd, let me know.

In the meanwhile, will be attempting to propitiate the rain gods so JS dies not experience a reprise of the torrents of rain he encountered last winter!

Lol...perhaps that was an intentional typo? That Greenlake deluge was so nasty that it could have been dangerous...especially since I came woefully unprepared in terms of rain gear.

I will not make such a mistake this time.

JS, I PMed you with another possible option.

Got it. And thanks again. :)

I'd be interested in camping/glamping too, and I think I could do something mid-october. We camped in Leavenworth one October (climbing during the day and beer at night!) at the Alpine View RV park and campground and it is walking distance to most hotels and (more important for October than other times of the year) has warm bathrooms with plumbing. A set-up like that might be nice so people can camp, RV, or stay in a hotel and still hang out. The east side of the mountains is a bit better weather at that time of year too.

Interesting idea, and i like that it is close to rooms for those that don't like dirt.

Might also be possible to get a group site at 8-mile (mid October is beyond reservations).

If it is a small # of people, then I might be able to host near Lake Wenatchee (limited tent space and facilities). Hiking out the back door, lake to kayak on, climbing nearby (for those that like that kind of thing :)  ).

Many options outside of the 98826 zip code as well.

I believe the 21st will work for me, both the walk and Chuck's.

I am looking forward to meeting the forum members. I sheepishly admit that I am more often a lurker than a poster in these forums. I admire many folks here and look forward to forming two-sided relationships.

I am also potentially interested in camping in October but it depends on specific date and the dates of some of my other unconfirmed travel plans. Leavenworth area would be great, another option to consider is the Washington State Park cabins system. Many parks offer both primitive camping and basic affordable cabin rentals very near each other, to give some options for people. I have stayed in the Rasar state park cabins myself with my wife and friends and it was great. Other good options which I have not tried: Camano Island, Cama Beach, Wallace Falls. For example, Cama Beach has cabins that can accommodate 4-6 people for $75 - $90/night. There is no reservation website, just a phone number, and I have not checked availability. Personally I would be just as happy with primitive camping as cabins.
