I'll do a final accounting this Sunday, so that I have a firmer headcount. For now, there is space, though I may be asking people who have folding chairs to bring one.

Also, keep in mind that this is going to be a small potluck. Bring something to share, or a six pack, or whatever moves your furniture :)

Will do. I do have some folding chairs too, so ask away.

We have folding chairs to bring, too.

Any theme on potluck dishes or a free for all?

No theme. I'm omnivorous. If you want, feel free to post up what you want to bring, or suggest a theme. I'm game for whatever.

OK, here's the headcount as I have it:
*huzar
*bigalsmith101 + DW
*Cressida
*hamsterman
*JoJo
*forkneedlepen + DH
*celticmyst08 + DH
*crazycatlady + DH
*Lisapants
*OSUMountaineer
*imustachemystache
*leontager

* means you have confirmed attendance.

I think that brings the total to 17. Not the most I've ever hosted at the house, but a good sized gathering. I'd say we're about full up, unless you posted earlier in the thread and I just completely missed it when you were doing your post. People not confirmed by EOD Wednesday will be dropped from the list.

I have 10 chairs, so people that have folding chairs (Cressida, forkneedlepen), please bring a total of eight more to be on the safe side. If you haven't confirmed (there's no * by your name), please confirm.

Cool. I have 4 chairs I can bring. Regarding potluck, I'm leaning toward 7-layer dip. So if anyone wants to be lazy and bring tortilla chips, they will be needed. :)  Otherwise I'll bring those too.

Assuming SeattleStache confirms, I'll send private notes to them and to hamsterman about the ride. Should be in the next couple of days.

Yes, huzar, thanks much. Also, in the photo, thank you for capturing only my hand (and not the rest of me) in the act of sticking food in my mouth.  :)  I think that was the raspberry cake, which was very good.

BTW, lisapants, judging by that first photo I posted, I think the blue travel mug left behind at my place is yours.

I think that's the only unclaimed item. There were two blue camping chairs, but bigalsmith101 realized that his land yacht was lacking a little junk in the trunk and came back for them.

Hi all.  I'm one of the Camp Mustache organizers, and MMM is interested in having a Seattle Meetup on the evening of Thursday May 21st (the night before Camp Mustache).  I'll be pretty busy then, but we were wondering if anyone else here would like to organize a meet up for that day. This is what he had in mind:

"I was thinking of showing up a day early  to do some fun some stuff in Seattle first, and maybe even hosting a general-purpose meetup in a nice park somewhere central (weather permitting, otherwise it could be a house or pub). Then the next day I could carpool up to Camp with anybody willing. Our Seattle day could even start with a group bike ride that anyone would be free to join".

Feel free to post here if you have any ideas.

A bike ride on The Burke starting or ending at Gas Works Park would be my vote.

Gasworks and ride on the Burke sounds like an obvious and pretty easy to organize. How long a ride were people thinking of, and is there a rough idea of schedule?

Fremont Brewery is nearby too in case of less favorable weather. It's kid friendly so all could join.

The co-founder is a grad school friend of mine.  Maybe I can negotiate a MMM discount?

Wow. Tell them the Universal Pale is, like, the best beer on the planet.

We are looking at about an 8 hour drive so wouldn't be getting in until later afternoon but would love to meet up! Especially if activities are being extended into the dinner hour.

Knowing nothing about Seattle, I like the idea of meeting at the park or brewery! Are there any Seattle MMM'rs who would be willing to let my husband and I couch surf? The beer would be on us :)

FYI: the big hill at Gas Works Park is closed until June. The park also has relatively few picnic tables. It does have a nice central location near my workplace, so that's nice.

Golden Gardens and Carkeek parks are a bit less central, but have lots of picnic space and west-facing beaches that can be nice places to watch the sun set.
