Hey Saskatoon people, who's around the weekend of Feb 23 - 24th? Would be good to brave the cold and get together!

On the saturday I'm being a middle aged man; having a party for my soon to be 6 year old AND attending a baby shower...On the Sunday I'm probably getting hearing aids.

Can I live vicariously through you? Just tell me you did something amazing, it makes me feel better hearing other peoples cool plans.

Excellent, looks like we will have the biggest turnout yet! Any ideas? I'm trying to think of a coffee shop we could head to that allows for playing board games. There's always King Me. Weather depending, I would be up for a winter hike somewhere, Beaver Creek, etc. If it warms up a little I'm definitely itching to get some extended fresh air.

I'm game for whatever, something outside could be fun if the weather is decent. Coffee or something might be easier to chat though? Doesn't matter to me, looks like I've got something up at 5pm both Sat. and Sun. though.

Hello Saskatoonians!

I know it is well in advance notice - we will be in Saskatoon between May 3-7th.   Downtown.  I wouldn't mind meeting up with the group at a pub by 25th & Spadina?  Say Finn's?  I know it probably isn't the coolest place - but it is walking distance.   Afternoons best.

Let me know if possible!

Sounds good, why don't we do coffee again at the Farmer's Market Sunday morning at 10?

I have to say that my life is rarely planned a week in advance most of the time, but I will keep this on my radar! It is likely I'll be in town.

What do you mean, Finn's is totally the coolest! How many other places in town have free popcorn ;)
Can't say if I'm around that far in advance but if I am I'm game!

Now that the weather has turned for the better, can we bat signal any other mustachians hiding in the crevasses of Saskatoon?

@oneyearfromnow are you still going to be around S'toon at the start of May?

I will be there May 3rd-7th.   I believe the FIL has us booked one night at the Persephone.  Afternoon always better.  I am looking forward to meeting you all.

The only thing that would stop me from being there would be a dramatic change in my Father’s health.  He has some delicate surgery scheduled for Apr 26.  Fingers crossed.

Hello Saskatonians! Just putting feelers out there if there's interest in a meetup soon. Seems like perhaps a wiener roast down by the river may be in order.

I would really enjoy seeing you all again, but there are no immediate plans to return to S’toon.

However, If you are ever in my area, I would be happy to create a MMM gathering for you.

Happy Summer!

wow, I need to get on the forum more often.

A wiener roast sounds great. I have an over sized pile of fire wood and no fire pit...I pulled out the cement one (little kid safety hazard) and never got around to replacing it. Any particular date or should I pick one?

No worries, Prairie Stash! I think you probably go on the forums as much as you want/need to. I have a fire pit in the back yard of my apartment that would be suitable, or I'm thinking Gabriel Dumont park? If you could bring a bit of your over-sized pile to burn that would be awesome. Feel free to propose some dates. Here's my availability:

July 24th, 26th, 28th, 29th, 31st or Aug 2nd. After that I'm on a canoe trip from the 3rd to the 8th but we could look after the dates I listed too. I know days between Monday - Thursday work best for @sieben as the bugger heads up to his cabin almost every weekend! (I reckon it's mostly to escape awkward invites from me on weekends coaxing him to drink the sketchy cider we brewed together, which I will add is slightly better carbonated).

And @oneyearfromnow you'll be seeing me later in August so that works great! Looking forward to meeting some Ottawa MMMer's if it works out.

I'll try to remember to bring some wood back from the lake this weekend ;)

Haha, there isn't anything wrong with the cider.... well, or at least it's good enough to get you buzzed anyway!

Alright @sieben, is there a day that works next week for you? You working people tend to have more rigid schedules ;) That said I should hit 30 hours of contract work this week, its been relatively busy.

I want to bring my wife and kids along, Gabriel Dumont might work better so that I can tell the kids to run around.  My wife is very curious to meet some of the people I talk about, she's quite supportive of all of this. She also comes at it from the not caring about money but naturally frugal perspective. We work very well together, she's my complement in a lot of ways.

We are looking forward to it!  It should be no problem to have a wee gathering while you are here.  Just need the times when you are not already booked with your other obligations so I can befin to round up the troops.

Your park meetup sounds like fun!  Maybe I can get my FIL to join your group.  I know he thought it was fun meeting you both.

I've received confirmation from @sieben that Wednesday should work for him, so why don't we say about 6 PM down at Gabriel Dumont Park at this fire pit:

https://www.google.ca/maps/place/52%C2%B006'50.2%22N+106%C2%B040'36.6%22W/@52.1139428,-106.6773712,177m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d52.1139418!4d-106.676824

I'm thinking we can keep it pretty basic:
Hot dogs - Prairie Moustache
Buns -
Veggies/or a salad -
??

If someone could bring wood, and I can grab some wiener sticks that would be awesome.

I’m in + my wife + 2 little kids.

We’ll bring stuff for the kids so no concern with them. For the adults a  pasta salad and probably some other stuff. We’re trading ideas right now, I’m sure it’ll go well.

It was a great idea, terrific location.

Mrs. Stash was very happy to meet everyone. She agreed with me afterwards that however strange it sounds to meet brand new people from a forum she never reads, it's quite fun. It's definitely out of our normal comfort zone and we're very glad we came out.

Thank you again for the fantastic suggestion.

Also! There has to be a few lurkers out there given that we've only ever really had max 4 people interested and have 12,000 thread views. We're not that scary - just prairie people that need a reason to get out of the house when it's -30!

Cool perhaps we could meet up for a wiener roast/campfire somewhere in-between? Do you have any go-to spots? Somewhere like Douglas Provincial Park or Blackstrap perhaps? I'm thinking in a few weeks, as in after the long weekend. Hopefully the weather holds until then.

I have not stopped to much in between our two cities. Douglas looks like it could be interesting. In a couple of weeks would be good, a fall campfire sounds even better. Tentative the 19th? My wife is about to start up the new school year, so a bit of time to see how it works out would be good.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
