RALEIGH/DURHAM/CARY/CHAPEL HILL MMM'ers:

Here are the details for a MMMMeetup in Raleigh.  I hope to see some of you there! 

Picnic Lunch
Sunday, October 27 at 11:30 am
The Rose Garden in Raleigh


If you don't know where it is, it is just north of the NC State Campus and right behind the Raleigh Little Theater.  Very central for those in Raleigh, and on the Chapel Hill/Durham side of Raleigh not far off the interstate for those that want to commute down. 

Nice free park.  Free parking all around, just read the signs.  Bring your own picnic lunch and beverages (maybe skip the alcohol, it'll be 11:30 am and who gets drunk in the morning?).  I'm up for potluck if it doesn't get too complicated.  We'll probably bring a big bag of chips or something to share anyway.  May have Mrs. RootofGood and kids in tow (ages 1, 7, and 8), if you wanted to bring significant others and/or kids.

Unless the theater happens to be open, there aren't any bathrooms in the park, but there's McD's, some other shopping, and 2 libraries about 1/4 mile away that are well known for decent bathrooms in addition to mediocre burgers and stacks of books (respectively). 

The weather forecast says high of 63 degrees and sunny, so it should be a decent day to gather (given it is late October).

I think at this point it would be easiest to BYOF (bring your own food).  I think we are packing sandwiches, chips, and fruit.  There should be extra chips if others want some.  And I'll try to throw a few extra bottles of water in the cooler.

We'll probably set up at a picnic table somewhere near the roses.  Look for a white dude, an Asian chick, a toddler, and 2 girls.  Feel free to post here if you can't find us.  I imagine the park will be rather empty at 11:30.

Great to meet all you guys today.  Always a blast to chat with people who "get it". 

And fire or jpo, did you guys facing the sun get sunburn only on one side of your face?  I now have the perfect Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde mask for Halloween.

No sunburn for me.  I'll have to stick to a regular mask for Halloween.  It was great meeting you, RootOfGood and Ice813.  And good to see Paul and jpo again.  Sorry I had to be the spoilsport and be the one to break up the party.  We'll have to do it again.

I had to leave soon anyway, and didn't realize it was already 2:30.  And leaving when we did kept my face from getting more toasted.
