Hi! Im new to the forum.
Would anyone be keen on meeting up in Perth Sunday 27th July? My partner and I work away so we're not in Perth much.
We'd love to meet some similar-minded people.  It'd be refreshing to have something in common with others in their 20's.
Look foward to any ideas!!!

I will be away on holiday (yay!) but I'm sure others will be available.

How about Little Bird from 9am on Sunday, then?

Done! I will try to bring D along as well :)

We're on the squashiest brown couches we could find. Only 50% scarfified, though. Said scarf is a white and black pattern. =)

Can I barge in to say that I'll be in Perth from the 1st of the August for about a week or so before I embark on my Asia adventure. If anyone's up for meeting sometime in the first week of August, let me know. :)

Perpetuity - what date range are you available? (PS: I love your name, but I wish, wish, wish it was Pe(rth)petuity! ;-)
Can we combine this with limeandpepper from the 1st and anatidaev from the 3rd?
I could more easily do a week day evening at the moment due to the moving house stuff.

Southern Saver - I am very much still up for a Rockingham beach meet in August too... I just want to get this move out of the way before I commit to too much weekend stuff!

If it would make it easier to plan, I can potentially be available any day from the 1st - 7th of August, with enough notice.

Are people still up for an early August meet up? I propose an indoor location, but I don't have ideas beyond that.

How about Saturday morning (2nd) or Sunday afternoon (3rd?) as I could do either of those times. Sunday morning is never good for me.

stripey, if it's not too much of a hassle. You can bring just one, more might be too heavy. I won't borrow any as I'll be heading off to Asia soon afterwards, but I'll have fun flipping through during the meet. :D

No worries. I'll have to look back at this thread to figure out what I mentioned!!! I should be able to bring several and just bring a backpack or a pannier on my bike (depending on where the meetup is...)

Bit random, but: a friend of mine has rescued a 15 month old beagle, female, very sweet but anxious, from an abusive owner. Now Miss Beagle needs a new home with a loving owner. So if any of the Perthies have the time/space/love/financial capacity to take on a puppy, PM me!

And now back on topic: I'm likely to make it the morning of the 2nd. Though it depends what happens this week with my family dramas.

Do we have a venue yet? I'm more likely to make it if it's somewhere I can get breakfast :-)

Breakfast is good! I vote for breakfast!

For venues, I'm going to defer to the people who would actually go into the CBD otherwise more than I do (which works out to be less than once a month).

It was lovely to see you again missbee, and to meet stripey and moestache for the first time! Thanks for the great company and conversation, I really enjoyed stripey's books as well, one of which has gotten me quite intrigued about the possibility of making my own ginger beer someday.

Hi JetD! No problems about coming along to whenever the next one is.

@Limeandpepper, it was a pleasure meeting you to, I look forward to hearing all sorts of stories from your up-and-coming adventure!
For those interested, the two blogs associated with those books were:

Down To Earth (simple living, more than MMM philosophy, however the associated forum has people who are members of both forums)
http://down---to---earth.blogspot.com.au/ and the post with her ginger beer recipe is this one: http://down---to---earth.blogspot.com.au/2012/01/making-ginger-beer-from-scratch.html. I make my ginger beer with the recipe my mother uses, which I think came from a Margaret Fulton cookbook, which uses sultanas as a starter. However I have a ginger beer plant on the go, so am happy to share if desired!

The other one is Whole Larder Love, which just has the most beautiful photography: http://wholelarderlove.com/ which is about simple and ethical living (particularly food).

Oh, and the Melbourne wild foraging lot is: http://www.eatthatweed.com/edible-weeds/

Hi everyone! Do we want to meet up in September? Based on precious requests, I think somewhere south of the river and child friendly. I don't have any ideas, but im happy to go anywhere. Is all the way down at rockingham too far?

After asking for recommendations, I propose just north of Rockingham foreshore. There appears to be a Dome nearby in case the weather is unfavorable. I can't do the afternoon of the 6th, or the 20/21 September, but all other dates are free.

Theme: spots!

NinetyFour, you crack me up. Come to Perth in springtime, and catch the wildflowers. Australian flora has some of the funkiest flora on the planet, and the southwest is a biodiversity hotspot!

Happier, I 'may' be able to come (deliberately left my computer at home whilst on holidays interstate) and if so and you make it to Canning bridge train station I would be happy to drive.

Oh, if SO doesn't want to come to this one, and you can come, I'd like a lift from Canning bridge too. You don't speed, tailgate, or take corners fast, do you?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
