Just saw this, if anyone is feeling like an interesting outing on Saturday (before the meetup, of course ;) ) or Sunday:

Sorry to miss the meetup, we didn't realise there had been a change of venue until 3:10 when no one arrived at SC Leederville where we were waiting. Please share the highlights.

Oh gosh, that's dreadful! How annoying for you.

We had a couple of no-shows, but there were four of us in the end. San churros didn't get annoyed that we stayed for two hours and only ordered one thing each, so they get a gold star.

Another meetup soon, maybe that picnic in Kings Park?

It went really well! Lots of "getting to know you" talk that I'm sure we'll repeat at the next meet up. Happier, Moestache, englyn and myself were at thus one, really sorry about the venue change! I'm not sure how soon we want the next one or what's good for everyone. Happier has promised us the story of the $60k engagement ring for the next one :)

So! The last one was a resounding success I'd like to repeat. I liked the idea of a picnic at kings park. I'm available Nov 30, Dec 1, 7, 8, 14, 15. these are my pre-xmas available dates, so if anyone has a preference, would love to hear it!

Can't do Dec 1 either. Coincidentally, that's when work is doing our Christmas do. With a low-key picnic. In King's Park!!

8, 14  and 15 are more likley to work for me than the other dates, but its always a bit hard for me to know too far in advance as i have to fit around bf's commitments (and he around me) so i never 100%   know if i might be in his town with him... But right now those dates are all looking promising. Picnic sounds great.hope i can make it!

In that case, I suggest a morning tea at kings park on the 8th, BYO everything, either at Synergy Parkland or pines picnic area, unless someone else has a favorite spot

Great plan! I vote for Synergy Parkland.

Do we need a sign or something to show who we are? It will be harder to figure out who the MMMers are than it was at San Churros, I would expect.

Or should we all wear a particular colour again?

Great! I love playing on the playground. Let's do the colour thing again, that was fun. I'm thinking moving along the rainbow to orange?

I don't own orange clothing, but I will wear an orange toned red dress (as opposed to a blue toned red dress like last time) and quite probably a straw hat with a red ribbon :-)

8th is great, though finding orange coloured clothing in my wardrobe is harder than finding red, I do have a dress with a bit of yellow, that could pass as light orange :)

Melody - i've got a cat coffee mug as well :p

edit - should we make a list of who's bringing what?

I think the 8th is OK for me. I keep forgetting to check my calendar.
The only item of orange clothing I own is a high-vis shirt, and I'm not wearing that :P I do have a bright orange blanket I can bring to sit on, though!

Just to warn, it was very busy last Sunday morning there... And definitely too long a wait for the cafe. I was talked into buying a round of coffees and it took half an hour. It is a lovely spot and looking forwatd to meeting some new people!

Which cafe is it near? (I'm bad with directions etc so anything that helps me find the right spot is good!).

I'm planning to bring some baked sweet treats to share, and maybe a picnic blanket.

I was just gonna bring food for myself, but I'll bring some food to share too. The nearest cafe should be the Zamia cafe. I will also bring a rug to sit on. And my parasol. Its cream lace, so might make me more obvious...

Okay, pretty sure I'm the first here given how early I am. I've picked a nice shady spot visible from the nearest road / carparks, not too close to the lake or playground (though happy to shift when others get here). Wearing bright red so I should be hard to miss!

Lovely to meet you all today, and looking forward to getting to know you guys better :)

Would be up for a 'stitch and bitch' at some point if anyone is up for it. I will happily supply my home but would be happy to suggest a few quiet cafes too if people have portable things (which I do have)

Quiet cafe stitch and bitch sounds great to me, i'm bright red with sunburn and destined to peel all week long (including my face, worse luck) so I think an indoors meetup would work better for me next time :-) I was wearing 30 spf, too!

It was lovely meeting you all too!
There is a cafe called Shots on Lake which has "meeting rooms" - it's an old federation house and the cafe is spread across a few different rooms, so we could tuck into one of the back rooms and stitch and bitch... only my sewing isn't very portable :( but I can do some sketches.

My partner (D) got burnt too, bright red face! He said he still had fun coming, though :)
A stitch & bitch at a cafe sounds great, using a meeting room is a really good idea.

Hope D didn't feel out of place too much being the token male. I did get slightly sunburned on my nose... I suppose I AM lucky, but I still envy my sister and her darker complexion (think of someone looking just like me, only with Italian complexion).

How about we make a decision to have shady/indoorsy meet ups until the worst of summer is done, considering the various injuries and afflictions from Sunday? Next picnic at the end of Feb or something?

I won't be available until after New Year at this stage. I can probably do most weekends however if I am on call (I don't have the roster in front of me) I just may need to dash off randomly.

Shots on Lake sounds like a good idea. Does it have good lighting? (As my current project involves black Aida (!!!) I may need to start something smaller otherwise).

Post new years for me... Maybe the weekend of 4/5 January?
Not sure about the lighting at Shots as we actually sat outside when I went. As it's a new cafe they have been changing their opening hours, I will confirm when they are open and post here...

January sounds great to me. Do we need to book one of the meeting rooms?

Moestache, I regularly do craft days with friends and some friends would rather just sit and chat without crafting - which is totally cool :-) but on the other hand, if you want to learn how to knit or crochet, you would probably be surrounded by people willing to teach you at the meetup!

Either morning on 4/5 is fine.

The shop is http://www.shotsonlake.com.au/
If you want the boardroom you book, but I was actually thinking of hogging the room shown in the top left corner of the website.
Shots is only open Saturdays though :( If we did a Sunday we would have to pick somewhere else.
I'm trying to think of places that aren't so busy that they would mind us hogging space for ages...
