Sorry guys, I'm still on the tail end of a summer cold so I'll keep my potential germs away from the pregnant people! I'll do some crocheting on my couch instead. I think I'll be available for the February meet up though :)

Bummer! Hope you feel better soon :-)

Awesome! :-)

Okay friends, we have a coffee / morning tea in Perth to meet a new MMM couple who've got in touch with me!

10am Saturday 28 Jan, East Village in 140 William (picked for the air con, given it's 34 degrees). Let me know if you can make it :-)

I need to show up to one of these sooner or later. Unfortunately I'm working the 28th but it should (fingers crossed) be my last weekend shift. I'll keep an eye on the thread for the next one.

Bad timing! Don't forget that you can always propose a time and location that works for you, and see who else is free :-)

Woo hoo!

Hopefully at least one other old timer comes along, otherwise it'll be Happier and assorted newbies :-P

I'm hoping to be a maybe-yes by spending the entire day napping. If my maybe-cold turns into an actual cold and not just extra nausea+ fatigue, I will of course not attend so as not to infect you or the newbies.

Nah, though yesterday I had my new neighbour ask me if I had a bit of a South African accent. Personally, I don't notice my accent ;)

Btw, on regards to games night, would us coming along for a short visit work? Long enough to say hello, but not so long the energiser bunny has lost his shyness and starts unleashing a whirlwind of devastation?

I will send around a PM tomorrow re my address, anti-peanut regime, list of games I own etc for boardgames.

Re the King's Park meetup on the 12th, I'm assuming that'll be near one of the kid's play parks or another good landmark to find? ARS might need very clear instructions or assistance finding the right bit of the park ;-) it's even bigger than Central Park, after all!

I may or may not attend King's Park depending on the weather (no lupus flare-ups for this preggo eggo, thanks) but will keep the date free in the hope that it's not too hot that day for me.

For best park-admiring, how about near the Pioneer Women's Memorial?

I was thinking an early dinner picnic, maybe from 4.30, to skip the worst of the heat.

Looking at the long range forecast, and while Sunday's isn't out just yet, I would be willing to bet that it is likely to be raining on Sunday, so I'm womdering what plan B will be?

Yeah, it is looking like rain. While the Women's Memorial is better for park viewing (sorry Englyn!), I know Stickybeaks is open and has undercover area suitable for chatting (as long as we buy an occasional milkshake, which I will definitely be buying :D) They're open until 5PM on a Sunday.

Location on Google Maps, easy for Public Transport

Well, we now have a forecast, 26degrees and 50% chance of rain.
OK, Stickybeaks it is.
Any input on time? Since it's not going to be hot and Stickybeaks with its milkshakes is open till 5 we could make it more of an afternoon tea kind of time. 3.30?

330 works for me.

Weirdest time of year to have to plan around possible rain :/

Hello from a gas station in Norseman!

I saw a wild wallaby while driving, so that was neat.  So many watch out for camels and emu signs, but nary a sighting.

Stickybeaks at 3:30 Sunday sounds good to us.  If the weather turns out to be good, we can always go for a stroll, too (we'll plan to be there until at least 4 no matter what, in case anyone is late?).   :)

Welcome to Western Australia Arebelspy and family.

+2 for the Meetup at Stickbeaks.   I like the idea of a walk. I don't think I've ever had to think about planning around the rain in February, usually we'd be looking for shade or air conditioning!

See you Sunday.

We'll be there - it should work out well in regards to Sir Eds naps too - yes, I will be bringing him along. I'll probably get him a treat there.

Btw, for those catching the bus, I don't think the rd cat bus is stopping along that road at the moment - something to do with roadworks I think, we went past on Sunday and didn't stop on that road.

So, was thinking of a housewarming party, for those I have already met. Next Sunday, 2:30pm onwards. Thinking of a fairly relaxed type event, maybe a couple of boardgames, food, chat type of thing. Nothing too strenuous, as it will probably be hot.
If you want to come along send me a message and I'll send you my address.

Well, nobody has said they are able to attend, so I'm not sure if it's a timing issue, schedule clash or what, or people are waiting until the last minute. So if people do want to come along, can you please let me know by tomorrow (Friday Evening).
